SEE EXHIBIT INFO AT FOCUS GALLERY WEB
September brings art and whimsy to Focus Gallery, according to gallery owner Lisa Buchanan. "There will be beautiful watercolour paintings, some very interesting photographic art and a wonderful variety of wood carvings."
The opening for this show is Wednesday, September 4 at 6:30pm.
The artists include; Dave Alexander, who enjoys experimenting with his photographs using software to turn them into a visual experience that is sure to bring a smile; David Atkinson, a fisherman by trade. His art (although he calls it just a hobby) is carving birds and other wildlife he sees around the shores of Cape Sable Island.
Loretta Dedrick is a watercoulourist, inspired by the views around the Shelburne area, as well as flowers when wintering in Florida; Darryl Swaine is a master of finding the face or spirit in the wood he collects from the bottom of Clyde River, his carvings are magical.
Focus Gallery is also pleased to display a piece by a remembered now-deceased local folk artist Eli Whiteway in the gallery. His work, as well as some photo albums documenting his art and life, is on loan from the Whiteway family. This exhibit will open on Wednesday, September 4th at 6 PM and will run until the beginning of October.
Due to construction in front of the building, the gallery will be closed from Thursday Aug. 29 - Wednesday Sept. 4, when the next exhibit opens at 6 pm
