Tall Ships Shelburne

Saturday, July 28, 2012 to Sunday, July 29, 2012

Shelburne (July 28-29)

The small seaport town of Historic Shelburne is renowned for its legacy of shipbuilding. Shelburne Harbour is the third deepest natural harbour in the world, and it is a favourite port visit for Tall Ships Nova Scotia and sailing vessels of every description.

We are pleased and excited to again be welcoming the Tall Ships, their crews and visitors to our Town and harbour on July 28 and 29, 2012.

Located adjacent to one of the most beautiful deep water harbours in Canada, Shelburne boasts a historic waterfront containing 33 original United Empire Loyalist homes to 1783 when the town was founded. A stroll along the waterfront offers you a chance to visit four museums, each highlighting a unique period in the history of the town. Enjoy great dining, wonderful craft shops and one of the many live performances in the Osprey Centre. Nearby communities offer you great vistas of lighthouses, rugged coastline, fishing villages and opportunities to bicycle, kayak and bird. In Birchtown, visit the first freed black settlement in North America.

Come and enjoy the many festival and events that will be taking place in and near Shelburne around the Tall Ships visit:

July 19–22:  Shelburne Founders’ Days

July 26–29:  South Coast Pirate Rendezvous
