February is Heritage Month at the Yarmouth County Museum and Archives.
The museum is celebrating with several events including a fund-raising lunch and a weekly series of talks on Yarmouth County history and heritage.
Beginning on Wednesday, February 5 at 7 p.m. and every Wednesday after that, the museum will host its Heritage Talks Series.
February 5: Special guest Laurent d’Entremont will regale us with the history of Pubnico and what it was like for him growing up in the area.
February 12: Yarmouth County Historical Society president, Charles Winship, will be talking about the history of South Ohio based on the information gathered from the community for the Yarmouth 250th anniversary.
February 19: David Sollows – topic TBA.
February 26: Helen Hall talks about the history of the Grove Road in Yarmouth.
The annual heritage lunch on Monday, February 17 is sure to thrill your taste buds. This year the museum is serving baked beans and homemade brown bread with wieners, apple crisp for dessert and tea and coffee. Lunch will be served at the museum from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for $10 per person.
The Yarmouth County Historical Society also has its annual general meeting on Friday, February 7 at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
