The Nova Scotia Health Authority announced that the Roseway Hospital Emergency Room in Shelburne will be closed on Monday, December 21, at 8 a.m. and will reopen Tuesday, December 22 at 8 a.m. The ER was also closed Friday, Dec 18 at 3:00pm until Saturday, Dec 19 at 8:00am.
Despite assurances from Health & Wellness minister Leo Glavine and Health Authority staff that efforts will be made to curtail ER closures at Roseway, the ER there has been plagued with ER closures during 2015.
The most recent closures, according to the Authority, are due to lack of physician.
The Authority advises: If you have an emergency, please call 911 or visit the nearest emergency department. For non-emergency health advice from a registered nurse, please call 811. The Mental Health Crisis Line operates 24/7 at 1-888-429-8167.
